Assignments: Full credit will be given to assignments that are turned in on time. Late assignments will be deducted and accounted in the final percentage grade received. If the assignment has not been turned in within a week of the due date, the final course grade may be reduced. Candidates who miss an assignment because of illness or an excused absence must arrange with the instructor for an extension within a week after the posting is due. Completing work does not necessarily guarantee an “A”. It is the quality of the work that matters. If you fall behind in this class, it is your responsibility to contact the instructor (me) before I contact you. Late or missing work can cause a complete grade reduction in your overall final grade in this course. I do understand things happen, and I am very patient and forgiving, but any work past two weeks will begin to have deductions taken for that category stated above.

Individual blog assignments are required weekly. Please see weekly assignment outline for blog topics. All blog writing will follow online etiquette & digital citizenship. This will be discussed the first week of the class. We will work in an environment of mutual respect and courtesy for all individuals in this class as well as in the “networked” world we are going to visit. You must have a total of 16 possible blog entries, discussion questions over the next 8 weeks. It really is of utmost importance that you all keep up with the weekly blog postings as it is important that the others in the class have something to comment on each week.
Overall academic/scholarly thoughts on the assigned topic in your own opinion - Yes.. they can be controversial and not popular, that is fine!
Some connection to education, classroom, school, etc. - How does this fit or does it?
Succinct, well written posts, in paragraph form (3 to 4 paragraphs is acceptable for minimum post size) 250 - 300 words
Link, Link, Link to other blogs, resources, web pages, definitions of word, etc.
Share what you know, give personal experiences, etc.
Reflect on what you have learned
Be creative, add photos that grab the readers attention, add video that you like or want to share

Blogs are nothing without comments. Students are encouraged/required to respond to each others blogs as well as outside blogs to gain experience with blog writing. Please comment on at least 3 blog posts. It really is encouraging and interesting to read other opinions on your own blog. You will appreciate others commenting and providing feedback on your blog!

Will be an overall reflection posted to your blog, of your growth as an individual as well as educator during the 13 weeks of this course. Please feel free to discuss any challenges, accomplishments, frustrations, as well as the knowledge you gained during the time we shared together. Please discuss future goals you have about utilizing technology in your classroom. How will taking this class impact your professional relationships within your school environment? What did you know before you started this class, what did you want to learn and what did you actually learn? (Remember to start small, you can always dream big!)
